Mountain Lakes Home & School Association is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization made up of parents, teachers and community members whose dedication to volunteerism and service in our schools embody the community spirit that Mountain Lakes was founded upon.
Our Mission:
- To enrich public education in Mountain Lakes by supporting the students, parents, teachers, staff and administrators through programs and services, scholarships, grants and fundraising;
- To facilitate communication among the community, homes and schools through H&SA meetings, publications and electronic services;
- To provide services and programs to the Mountain Lakes Public Schools; and,
- To promote volunteerism within the Mountain Lakes Public School District.
What We Do
Your continued annual support allows H&SA to provide funds and volunteers for the following:
- Bake Sale - Delicious, home cooked meals are prepared daily and delivered throughout the district during the month of October
- District-Wide Programs - Throughout the year, H&SA sources assemblies, programs and chats to augment curriculum and discuss current issues that affect our student population.
- Parents Appreciate Teachers and Staff (PATS) - Surprise treats for all teachers and staff throughout the year
- Portraits by the Lake - Beautiful portraits taken by a professional photographer in an idyllic, lakeside setting
- Recognition Luncheon - A spring luncheon honoring school personnel who have reached milestone anniversaries and retirements
- School Grants - At the end of the year, each school is provided with a grant for items unattainable under the regular school budget. Grant amounts vary from year to year based on fundraising efforts
- Student Directory - An online directory of all student families attending ML schools
- Teacher Appreciation Luncheons - Teachers and staff in each school are treated to spring luncheons

H&SA fulfills its mission by providing the schools with a wide variety of programs, services, grants and publications. Volunteerism is at the heart of everything we do. H&SA appreciates our many volunteers who enable us to sponsor and provide assistance for all the activities that occur throughout the school year. We offer numerous opportunities for volunteering in our schools as well as helping with our many programs and services.
Volunteer in Wildwood
Volunteer opportunities include: becoming a homeroom parent, library helper, member of the Principal's Advisory Committee (all inclusive using a rotating schedule), art show or a bulletin board display volunteer. Helping teachers or administrators with communications, displays, and activities. There are also opportunities to plan teacher appreciation events or to be a team member for Family Night, Cultural Arts, Bake Sale, Book Fair, Holiday Shopping Spree, Popcorn Friday, Next-Is-Briarcliff or Field Day. Volunteer in Briarcliff
Our middle school has volunteers assist with the 7th and 8th grade dances, Field Day and Book Fair. Briarcliff also needs parents to serve as grade coordinators or Principal Advisory Committee members (randomly chosen by the principal). Volunteer in MLHS
